
Since its inception in 1968 TRIP has rehabbed more than 300 units in over 128 buildings and owns and/or manages 220 units of rental housing in the City of Troy. TRIP has developed and sold homes to more than 85 first-time home buyers.
From 2002, when TRIP opened its NeighborWorks® Home Ownership Center in downtown Troy, until 2005, it provided individual, one-on-one financial counseling to 2068 households, graduated 449 people from its Homebuyer Education workshops, prevented 102 families from losing their homes through foreclosure, assisted 209 families achieve home ownership.
Additionally, TRIP has trained 592 people in its Landlord Training program, developed a Tenant Training Program for RPI students, provided intensive environmental clean-up job training to 42 people, and has created and/or supports one dozen neighborhood groups in the City of Troy.
In 2010, TRIP made $128,899 in capital improvements, paid $192,924 in local property taxes, repaired 278 homes, managed 254 affordable rental units, counseled 436 families in homeownership, facilitated 47 new home purchases, and assisted in 87 foreclosure preventions.
