Loans up to $25,000 to address health and safety issues, code violations, mechanical systems, etc. Flexible terms. Eligible households earning up to 120% of median income. NYS Energy Smart

Homeowners any income can hire certified contractors to perform an energy audit of their home. Depending on the contractor, audits generally cost $100-$250. Income-eligible owners may qualify for a free audit and a match toward the work. Low-interest financing available for energy-related improvements through a NYSERDA-approved lender. USDA 504 Loan/Grant

Loans up to $20,000 at 1% interest for up to 20 years.  Available to households who earn under 50% of the median income.  Grant funds may be available to senior households (62 and older) at a maximum of $7,500. Limited to rural areas of Rensselaer County.
