Rensselaer County Housing Resources: Mission and Vision

RCHR provides a full array of pre-purchase and post-purchase services to home buyers, including financial counseling, grants to assist with downpayment and closing costs, homebuyer education, flexible lending products and home repair assistance.   While some of these programs are income-targeted (primarily the financial programs), most are open to everyone, regardless of income.   RCHR provides a variety of homeowner rehab opportunities for low- and moderate-income households through different grant programs.

Mission

Working with local levels of government, not-for-profit organizations, businesses and residents, Rensselaer County Housing Resources seeks to improve the quality of life of the County’s residents by:

• Cultivating affordable housing opportunities;
• Improving housing conditions for residents;
• Serving as experts/facilitators on housing initiatives;
• Participating in community development activities that benefit Rensselaer County residents.
