STEP ONE: attend a Homebuyer Orientation Session.

STEP TWO: schedule an initial individual appointment. These are free, confidential one-on-one sessions with one of TRIP’s certified homeownership counselors to evaluate a person’s financial situation with respect to homebuying. This sets the stage for what happens next. Based on your goals & the assesment of where you are financially, you and your counselor will create a plan so that you can acheive your end goal of homeownership.
STEP THREE: Attend Homebuyer Education. Your counselor will register you for this class when you are either close to or mortgage ready. If you participate in the First Home Club, you will register for a class a couple months before the end of your savings period.
This eight-hour class (held in two sessions) provides all the information needed to learn about the homebuying process, what to look for in buying a home, different mortgage products, roles of different professionals, and more.
Our Pre-Purchase Program has no income restrictions and no geographic restrictions.
