The first step in the Pre-Purchase Program is to attend a Homebuyer Orientation Session. After attendance, you may schedule an initial appointment. These are free, confidential individual sessions with one of TRIP’s certified homeownership counselors to evaluate a person’s financial situation with respect to homebuying. Based on that assessment, you and your counselor will create a plan so that you can acheive your goal of homeownership.
Another step in the Pre-Purchase Program is to attend Homebuyer Education. Your counselor will register you for this class when you are either close to or mortgage ready. If you participate in the First Home Club, you will register for a class a couple months before the end of your savings period.
This eight-hour class (held in two sessions) provides all the information needed to learn about the homebuying process, what to look for in buying a home, different mortgage products, roles of different professionals, and more.
Our Pre-Purchase Program has no income restrictions and no geographic restrictions.
For the next scheduled Homebuyer Orientation or Homebuyer Education please check our Calendar of Events.
